I ran into Steve several times after high school. Steve was always a car guy "gear head" like most of us during that era. He worked at the Shores Trailer place, right next to Travis (yum-yum, greaseburgers) Hamburgers on 10 Mile and Harper. Steve did great car and trailer work, he was an automotive motorahalic. Steve loved his son and lived on 8 1/2 mile and Harper and I went to his home several times and met his family. Steve drove a 1969 or 1970 Ford Mustang Mach I, he really loved that car, too. He was a great guy. My sister talked to friends or family when he passed away and I believe they said it was lung cancer that took him. I am glad I was his friend and the world is a richer place since Steven M. Claeys was around, for the short time he was on this earth. May he rest in peace.
