Randall Raymond

Randall Eugene Raymond, 71, of Southfield, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. Randy was born on June 12, 1949, and grew up in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. At the ripe old age of 13, he met the love of his life, Diane Morris. They were married on January 2, 1971, in their hometown. Life took them to Alma, Michigan; Houghton, Michigan; Isle Royale National Park; and they set down roots in Southfield, Michigan. Randy was an avid nature lover, a lifelong learner, a GIS enthusiast, and award-winning teacher extraordinaire. He was respected in professional roles with Detroit Country Day School in Birmingham, Michigan; Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan; and administrative work for Detroit Public Schools as well as involvement with ESRI. He found great comfort in his testimony of Jesus Christ and was a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Randy is survived by his loving wife, Diane, his children: Beth (Mike) Barrie of Henderson, NV; Sarah (Gabe) Green of Summerlin, NV; Maggie (Aaron) Anderson of Dallas, TX; and Rachael (Jonathan) Hamilton of Farmington, UT; his grandchildren: Miranda, Madelyn, and Matthew Barrie; Katie and Jack Green; Hunter and Mackenzie Anderson; Owen, Alice, and Eleanor Hamilton; and his siblings Thomas (Suzy) Raymond and Sharon Kruse. Randy was preceded in death by his loving parents, Eugene and Peggy (White) Raymond, his beloved daughter, Jessiy, and his granddaughter Lindsey. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 12 Mile Rd., Berkley, MI, 48072. Hours will be from 1-4 P.M. Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be a private graveside service the following day. Randall was generous to a fault and held a special place in his heart for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his honor.
