Mark Allen Talkington died unexpectedly on Friday, March 11, 2022 in his home in Gainesville, Florida. He was 72 years old. Mark was born April 19th, 1949. Mark grew up in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan and was a graduate of Lakeview High School, class of 67. He also taught guitar and studied photography at Oakland Community College in Royal Oak. Mark may best be remembered as a musician, singer and songwriter who performed throughout the Detroit Metro area particularly through the 1980’s and 90’s. He was a talented and versatile musician mastering piano, guitar, mandolin and voice throughout his career. Mark loved sports cars, tennis, his RV, photography, the beach and the enjoyment of people of all walks of life. Friends and family share that Mark was a loyal and supportive friend; always in perpetual motion, curious, a lifelong learner and continuously in pursuit of all things new and creative. He was considered to be the investigative reporter always diving in and researching for answers and solutions to help others. He was “crazy” funny and loved to entertain others. He will be remembered for his quick wit and laughter. Mark lived life to the fullest. Most of all he will be remembered as a devoted husband to his wife, Patti, of 38 years, the proud father of his two daughters, Tracey (Noah, Ruby and Spencer) and Renee (Jordan), Later in life Mark sought the Rite of Christian Initiation and was joyfully welcomed into full communion with the Roman Catholic Church on his birthday, April 19th, 2014. Mark you will be profoundly missed and your legacy will live on through your children, grandchildren, family and friends. Mark was proceeded in death by his father William R. Talkington, his mother Beatrice Rose Davis and his brother David Lee Talkington. Mark is survived by his wife Patricia (Patti) deBear, his children Tracey Talkington and Renee Talkington, and his grandchildren, Jordan, Noah, Ruby and Spencer.. Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Roads) Wednesday, March 16th, 4-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church, 630 Harmon Street, Birmingham, Thursday, March 17th at 10am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 9:30am. Burial will follow in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Food For The Poor in honor of Mark Talkington, his favorite charity.
