Carrette, a cherished father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan. Born on a beautiful spring day, May 26, 1949, William lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by loved ones and his cherished Michigan surroundings. He was 75 years old. William is lovingly survived by his children, Jason Carrette and Jennifer Runyon and her husband David; his adored grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah, and Adeline, who brought him immense joy and pride; and his siblings, Leonard Carrette and his wife Barb, Catherine Carrette and her partner Bob Glasser, and John Carrette. William also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, who fondly remember their uncle’s warmth and guidance. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda, whose partnership and love were his life's compass, and his sister, Cheryl Buziak, with whom he shared fond childhood memories. A lifelong resident of Fairhaven, William had a passion for the great outdoors. He spent many serene hours boating, fishing, and hunting, finding joy and tranquility in nature’s embrace. His love for crafting and creating was evident in his woodworking projects and his skillfully made fishing lures. William was also a culinary enthusiast who delighted in preparing meals, especially through BBQ and smoking, often bringing family and friends together with his delicious creations.
