Vernon P. Sliwa, 48 of Roseville, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, in Bi-County Community Hospital, Warren, He was born July 6, 1949, In Detroit.
Mr Sliwa was a self-Employed auto mechanic, He was a former cub pack master of Pack 1468 for the Cub Scouts of America in St. Clair Shores.
He is survived by his wife, Donnetta; sons, Michael Joseph and John Paul; daughter, Dawn; one grandson; mother; Josephine; brother, Philip; and a sister Michele (James) Miller.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:am Friday at St. Angela Church, Roseville. Visitation is 1-9pm Thursday at Leo T. Sobocinski Funeral Home, 22121 Kelly, Eastpointe, and 10:30-11am Friday at church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Detroit

Vern was a really close friend during our years at LHS. After graduation we stayed in contact for a while. Military service and family moves, seperated us and we only met at reunions and such. It was quite a shock to find his name on the "Memory" page.He was a great guy, a special friend and he will be missed.
